HTC is back in game. For a long time, HTC was considered as the best Android phone making company and then Samsung jumped into the market with its Galaxy smartphone series. However, HTC has been trying to regain its market position and the only best way to do this is by launching great smartphones that can not only compete with Samsung Galaxy SIII but also with Apple’s iPhone 5 too. In this post, I’m going to review HTC One and iPhone 5 together. Our aim to determine which one is better. You must also keep in mind that Samsung is planning to launch its new smartphone Galaxy SIV next month so HTC One is going to face strong competition.
HTC One vs. iPhone 5 – Design and Build
If we talk about iPhone 5 then it is only 7.6mm thick as compared to the 9.33mm thickness of HTC One. The weight of iPhone 5 is only 112g and HTC One weighs 143g. HTC one is made with anodized 6000 series aluminum and the other version is made with ceramic glass which is also known as pigmented glass. The design is pretty awesome and it is made to show off so you better not hide it in a case. HTC One’s aluminum body is pretty strong but it doesn’t have the design of Apple iPhone 5 though. It is quite clear that HTC has taken a positive edge in build and design.
HTC One vs. iPhone 5 – Screen Comparison
If we look at the specifications of HTC One then it is simply a beast that has been unleashed in the market. This smartphone comes with a 4.7 inches screen that displays HD quality images and videos. I was hoping for HTC to come up with a 5 inch screen but according to them, that screen size is not feasible to handle a phone properly. The phone offers 468ppi (pixels per inch) which is impressive. On the other hand, iPhone has got its famous 4 inches screen with Retina display. Keep in mind that 4 inch size makes iPhone 5 a best device to keep in your pocket. iPhone 5 has got a resolution of 1136×640 pixels which is almost equal to that of HTC One but the dropping point of iPhone 5 is its 326ppi screen resolution. This is not a big different that you can spot with a naked eye but still HTC One is the winner when it comes to paper work and stats.

There is no doubt that iPhone 5 comes with a superb camera of 8MP that has many other features like face detection and auto focus. You will be amazed to know that HTC has come up with an ultra-pixel camera in its HTC One smartphone. It is not quite clear whether HTC One’s camera can beat the camera result of iPhone 5 or not but on paper, HTC One is the winner again.
Looking at all the above information, one can easily say that HTC One is way better than iPhone 5 but how it performs in the market is yet to be seen.
